David is focused on developing leadership fitness and organization effectiveness in organizations committed to building a culture of continuous improvement that leverages diversity and innovation through inclusion and engagement.

He built his expertise through 35 years of experience at Cummins Inc., a leading US multi-national manufacturing firm. Having served in leadership positions in new product design & development, corporate strategy and corporate quality, as well as corporate HR, David has a unique appreciation for strategically integrated approaches to performance improvement and organization effectiveness. David also has 5 years of experience developing leadership capabilities in the healthcare industry having served as Sr. OD consultant for Indiana University Health. In both industries he contributed to continuous improvement by preparing leaders to support both six sigma and lean improvement strategies through inclusion and coaching.

David’s rich experience with large system change has included providing leadership to several global change initiatives focused on: Leadership Development, Performance Management, New Product Development, Diversity Engagement & Inclusion, Functional Excellence, and Quality Operating Systems. He brings expertise in process design, development, deployment and assessment to large system change efforts.

David has particular talent and passion for coaching, and learning facilitation. He has extensive experience training and certifying organization leaders in these roles as internal change agents. In addition to his US experience, David has coached, trained and certified leaders in India, China, Mexico, Canada and the UK. He has been certified by The Ken Blanchard Companies to teach Situational Leadership and as a Master Trainer with Achieve Global and Development Dimensions International (DDI). David also has a Global Leadership Coach certificate, an ICF approved program through Internal Impact.

David earned a BA from Hanover College with a double major in Sociology and Political Science. He continued his education at Indiana University through the School of Public and Environmental Affairs and through the National Training Lab’s Center for Applied Behavioral Science.

Led work with the Corporate Policy Committee to define leadership excellence and the principles for leadership development to create a leadership development system for Cummins. Design team leader for a leadership development system comprised of 15 elements systematically applied across the corporation. Managed the initial deployment of the system to some 1,500 strategic level and high-potential leaders, certified 60 leaders as workshop facilitators and provided coaching as the Lead Trainer. Work included leading a three- tiered series of development programs focused on Emerging Leaders,New and Transitioning Leaders, and high potential Succession Candidates. In addition to leading these series of programs, David’s work includes 360-degree leadership assessments, leadership mentoring programs, and leadership coaching.

Worked with The Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group to design, develop, and deploy diversity and inclusion workshops including case studies and experiential exercises. Contracted by Catalyst to facilitate multi-day inclusion workshops with multiple corporate clients.

David led the corporate initiative to redefine and reintroduce the Cummins Operating System, Cummins business process focused approach to strategy implementation and the continuous improvement of business results. Finalized the development and deployment of Cummins “Value Package Introduction System;” a cross-functional concurrent approach to defining, designing, developing and deploying major new products.
